‘Al-Muharar Al-Wajiz’ by the Maliki Scholar Ibn Atiya is a highly regarded work in the field of tafsir. The author combines two methodologies of tafsir: tafsir via narrations and tafsir via reasoning. He often quotes from Ibn Jarir whilst avoiding repetition, he also quotes classical arabic poetry to explain the meanings and usages of key wordings. He also gave importance to the linguistic aspects of the Qur’an.
